Building bridges and sound bodies for more than 25 years
The Tyrolean chamber orchestra InnStrumenti has established itself as an important orchestra and bridge builder between musical genres, art forms, generations, institutions, artists and audiences thanks to its innovative and cleverly conceived concert formats – numerous radio and CD recordings (ORF, RAI and BR) and most recently live streams and online concerts have resulted.
In addition to numerous invitations to festivals and concert events, especially in Austria, Germany and Italy, specific concert formats of their own take centre stage throughout the year: the project Voices in Our Time focuses on vocal, sacred and socio-political aspects, while Young Soloists on the Podium presents young, outstanding soloists in a transnational collaboration.
While the New Year’s Concerts combine words, music, entertainment and ambition, the Composers of Our Time programme features several world premieres – almost 200 orchestral works (!) have been premiered to date. The Ma[i]tinée is dedicated to great classical and romantic masterpieces with internationally renowned soloists. At klang_sprachen, music and literature are closely linked, and the orchestra performs in the spectacular Tyrolean mountain scenery high above Innsbruck at Klassik am Berg.
Ope[r]n Air was presented as a new format for the first time in 2023.
In addition, the ensemble is particularly committed to teaching music to children and young people, including in its own school concert series Ab InnS ́ Konzert and in family concerts.
Numerous recordings have been released by Helbling/Naxos and musikmuseum.
The patron of the orchestra is Franz Fischler, the artistic director is Gerhard Sammer.
There is close co-operation with the South Tyrolean partner association Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti Südtirol and its president Paula Mair.
The orchestra is supported by the Association of Friends of the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti, which is open to all music enthusiasts.
